| Administrative Section
The Administrative Section of the Fire Prevention Bureau is responsible for keeping track of fire department-related statistics. The section handles Freedom of Information requests, concerning fire and inspection reports and has a Smoke Detector Give Away Program for District residents. The Administrative Section also handles complaints from residents, regarding possible fire code violations and arranges for a fire inspector to investigate. The National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) is used to provide fire data analysis about structure fires, vehicle fires, civilian injuries and deaths, firefighter injuries and deaths, and dollar loss.
